She is also working on writing a book about the lives of Asian women in the UK. Noor meets Veer (Pulkit Samrat) at a Punjabi wedding and the two hit it off right away. They date for a few weeks, but Veer is still reluctant to introduce Noor to his family, mostly his mother who holds most of the power in the family.After some time, Noor decides to move out on her own. She wants to be free from Nasser's daily nagging and controlling ways and prove that she can be financially independent from men. But when Veer finds out about Noor's plans, he is furious and accuses her of not wanting to be with him. Noor lies to her father and leaves for London with some friends. Veer catches up with Noor and the two make up after he promises to introduce Noor to his family.When Noor meets Veer's mother, she is delighted. She likes Noor and wants Veer to marry her, but the rest of the family is not happy with this match.
